Soc Trang organizes the first pink trumpet flower week

Soc Trang province organizes the pink trumpet flower week in March to promote the image of the local flower, combined with attracting resources for tourism development.

The festival is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province in coordination with the People’s Committee of Chau Thanh district for 5 days in March, in Chau Thanh town.

The week will have activities to display publications and tourism products; display beautiful photos and show videos introducing pink trumpet flowers; introduce souvenirs, local tourism gifts and tours in the region.

Visitors to the pink trumpet flower festival can also experience traditional activities such as Rong vong dance, making flat rice flakes.

This is the first time the province has organized an event associated with pink trumpet flowers to promote the image of the flower associated with the district’s tourism strengths, aiming to attract tourists and investment resources for tourism.

Since 2019, at the administrative center of Chau Thanh district, the one-kilometer-long road has been dyed with bright pink trumpet flowers since February, attracting many tourists in the region to admire and take photos.

Pink trumpet flowers originate from America, also known as pink bell flowers because they are similar to bells and grow in clusters of 4 to 7 flowers. The flowers have a color similar to cherry blossoms, usually blooming in February and lasting until June.
